The calendar, which has become widely known as the Stendig Calendar, was designed in 1966 by Massimo Vignelli. Since 1966, the calendar has been part of the design collection in the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
The Stendig is great in size (122 cm x 91 cm) and follows the European standard week, where Monday is the first day of the week.
The Stendig consists of 12 pages printed in black/white on matt, heavy-stock paper. These 12 pages alternate from white to black, month after month. The pages are held together with 3 black eyelets, which makes hanging easy. Each page is delicately perforated, so that they are easy to tear away.
